RKIII ANNOUNCES ALBUM RELEASE CONCERT IN CARRBORO

RKIII, a live electronic trio from Winston-Salem, will be having an official album release on Friday, August 10th at The Station.

RKIII is a former jazz trio pushing the bounds of what musicians can achieve with modern technology, utilizing computers as improvisational tools and incorporating electronic sounds into live performance. The three members are all seasoned veterans from the NC session player circuit, and have honed their instruments, as well as the electronic extensions of their instruments, to virtuosic levels.

Their new single is called The Greatest Something and is the seventh release from the band. Their previous full-length album, Modern Improv II, broke new ground as an all-improvised record, and this new single showcases the compositional abilities of the band. It is also the first installment of a long form science-fiction narrative from the band’s record label, Mr. Haircut. The story will take place in several mediums, including live projections at their concerts, and will encompass other artists on the label.
